Mega Millions September 18, 2026: Main-Number Sum Falls to 161

Four of the five main numbers were even in the Mega Millions draw for September 18, 2026, while the main-number sum fell by 60 from the previous drawing. The numbers were 4, 9, 24, 56 and 68, with Mega Ball 1. The published jackpot was $261 million.

Four even numbers across a wide range

The even numbers were 4, 24, 56 and 68, leaving 9 as the only odd main number. That created a four-even, one-odd split. The five main numbers added up to 161; the Mega Ball is separate and is not included in that total.

The lowest main number was 4 and the highest was 68, producing a spread of 64. In plain terms, the spread is the distance between the smallest and largest main numbers. The result extended from a single-digit value to a number near the top of the set, with 24 and 56 occupying the middle positions.

There were no consecutive main-number pairs. Although 4 and 9 were relatively close, they were separated by five points. The other gaps were larger: 15 between 9 and 24, 32 between 24 and 56, and 12 between 56 and 68.

A 60-point drop from September 15

The September 15, 2026, draw had a main-number sum of 221, compared with 161 on September 18. That made the latest total 60 points lower. None of the five main numbers from the earlier draw—27, 36, 43, 57 and 58—appeared again in the September 18 set.

The Mega Ball also changed from 16 in the previous draw to 1 in this draw. Because the Mega Ball comes from a separate number pool, it is not part of the main-number repeat count or the main-number sum.

These comparisons describe only how the two recorded draws differed. A lower sum, an even-heavy split, a wide range or the absence of repeated numbers does not predict any future Mega Millions result.
